Tallulah Academy beats Claiborne

Tallulah Academy ran for 328 yards and picked up a 22-7 road victory Friday night against Claiborne Academy.

The Trojans improve to 5-2 on the season.

Cody Landrem, who had 118 yards rushing on 23 carries, opened the scoring on a 14-yard run with 5:03 left in the second quarter.

With 1:13 left in the half, Cody Issac scored on a 22-yard run and Landrem ran in the two-point conversion to make it 14-0. Claiborne got its score on a 3-yard run and then made the two-point conversion to cut the Trojans lead to 14-8 with 5:36 left in the quarter.

Tallulah put the game away on Jeff Schuler’s 6-yard run with 1:51 left.

Schuler ended with 96 yards while Issac had 82 on nine carries. The Trojan defense held Claiborne to 202 yards in total offense and forced four turnovers.
