Thomas E. Minor died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 62.

Mr. Minor graduated from Rosa A. Temple High School. He attended Mississippi Valley State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science and a master’s degree in education. He was a retired teacher, having taught in the Tallahatchie County School District and the Warren County School District.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harrison Minor Sr.; and a brother, Harrison Minor Jr.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Franklin of Vicksburg; a daughter, Jaquita Minor Young of Vicksburg; two sons, Thomas Minor Jr. of Vicksburg and Ernest Minor of Webb, Miss.; four sisters, Margaret Ethel Smith of Vicksburg and Dorothy Minor Holmes, Valerie Minor and Kathy Minor Wilks, all of Detroit; three brothers, Kevin Minor, Johnny Minor and Mark Minor, all of Detroit; five grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
