Zella R. Alexander

Zella R. Alexander died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 91.

Mrs. Alexander was a lifelong resident of the Oak Ridge community. She retired as a physical therapist from ParkView Regional Medical Center and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Nettie Dunn; her husband, R.H. Alexander; two sons, Kelly Leon Alexander and Harold D. Alexander; and a brother, Excell Dunn.

Survivors include her son, Robert Alexander of Vicksburg; three daughters, Martha “Sister” Alexander and Martha Griffith, both of Vicksburg, and Ann Windham of Monroe; and a sister, Alyce Crist of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bradley’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Harry Hawkins and Jerry Herron officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Keith Alexander, Kelly Alexander, Don Windham, Steven Alexander, Pete Griffith and Thomas Griffith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Gordon, Kelly Worthy, Bill Lee Jr. and John Harris.
