Stella May Calhoun died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.

Mrs. Calhoun was born in Yazoo City and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 41 years. She retired from Sears in 1989 after 21 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lessie Hood; a son, Richard Calhoun; and a brother, J.C. Hood.

Survivors include one son, Stephen Calhoun of Clinton; two daughters, Beverly Moses of Brandon and Cindy King of Vicksburg; a sister, Reecy Cargil of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Green Acres Memorial Park. Burial, directed by Glenwood Funeral Home, will follow. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. today until the service.

Pallbearers will be Bo King, Ronnie Moses and Stephen Calhoun.
