Gators finish second at powerlifting meet

Vicksburg tallied 46 points to finish second at the Vicksburg Warren Invitational powerlifting meet on Saturday.

Warren Central finished third with a 44. Pearl’s A-team won the title with a team score of 52 points.

The Gators had five first place finishers. Jeremy Hamlin finished first in the 181-pound class, while Marcus Allen did the same in the 198-pound class. Emmanuel Lofton earned the top spot in the 242-pound class, while Kalum Martin won the 308-pound class.

Jarvis Holmes won in the super heavyweight class.

First place finishers for Warren Central were: Brandon Bailey, who won the 114-pound class; Michael English, who won the 148-pound class; Jericho Harris won the 220-pound class and Jimal Johnson took top honors in the 275-pound class.

 Third place finishers from Vicksburg were DeShae Harris in the 132-pound class and Darius Rodgers in the 148-pound class.

 Second place finishers for Warren Central were Darius Bridges in the 114-pound class and Tim Comans in the 242-pound class.

Finishing third for WC was Steven Jordan in the 308-pound class.
