Co-worker is charged in fight

A Vicksburg man was in Issaquena County Jail for assaulting a co-worker, sending her to a hospital.

Antonio D. Dorsey, 31, 214 Sherman Ave., was arrested at 10:43 p.m. Tuesday at the Vicksburg Police Department after he attempted to press charges against the co-worker for simple assault, said Investigator Johnnie Edwards.

Dorsey and a co-worker of Beechwood Restaurant and Lounge, 4451 Clay St,, argued and Dorsey struck the woman, Susan Penhollow, 32, 123 Lovers Lane, in the face, said Edwards. Dorsey fled, said Edwards.

The victim was taken to River Region Medical Center and transferred to University Medical Center, spokeswoman Peggy Wagner said.

Dorsey was charged with aggravated assault and was held without bond.

City woman held in credit-card fraud

A Vicksburg woman was in Issaquena County Jail this morning for using a stolen credit card at Kroger.

Clarissa Marie Burrell, 26, 204 Demby Drive, surrendered to Vicksburg police at 12:50 this morning after a warrant was issued for her arrest in a credit card fraud on Dec. 4, said Investigator Johnnie Edwards.

She was charged with credit-card fraud, said Edwards. No information was available on how she obtained the card.

She was held without bond.

City man charged with house burglary

A Vicksburg man was in the Issaquena County Jail this morning for a burglary reported in September.

Burnette Armstead, 29, 2418 Halls Ferry Road Apt. A, was arrested at Oak and Speed streets at 5:09 p.m. Tuesday and charged with a residential burglary, said Vicksburg Police Department Investigator Johnnie Edwards.

He is accused of taking more than $1,000 in clothing and shoes from an unidentified home in September, said Edwards.

He was being held without bond.

Kings Center missing food, computers

About $2,400 in food and computers was reported missing early Tuesday from Kings Community Empowerment Center, 224 RL Chase Circle.

Two Dell computers and a DVD player, along with three cases of water, four cases of Gatorade, four cases of soda, three gallons of pickles, two cases of hot dogs and buns, cakes, candy and condiments, paper plates and chips were reported missing.

The center also reported $260 in damages to the property.

No suspect was identified.

Doors, lawn mower among missing items

Two residential burglaries were reported in the city Tuesday.

• A Whirlpool refrigerator valued at $400, two exterior doors valued at $440, a swivel interior door valued at $130, a miniature wine cellar valued at $200 and a wooden wicker basket valued at $10 were reported missing at 4:38 p.m. from a home in the 300 block of Lovers Lane.

• A Honda pressure washer valued at $800 and a push lawn mower valued at $25 were reported missing at 7:44 a.m. from a home in the 300 block of Grange Hall Road.
