Rutherford wins Junior Championship|Golf

Parker Rutherford secured another first overall finish in the 14-18 division of the Warren County Junior Golf Championship at Clear Creek on Friday. He carded a solid one-over 37 on the back nine to win the two-day event with a 36-hole total of 150. Chris Ingram, 16, led the tournament by one stroke after round one, but fell back in round two with three double-bogeys, finishing in second place with a total of 155.  Will Burnett, 16, and Nick Mekus, 14, tied for third place with totals of 157 apiece. Rutherford, a rising freshman at Warren Central, played up from the 14-15 division in order to qualify for a spot in the Warren County Championship on July 25-26.  Rutherford has taken first place in his division in four of the last five local Junior Championships.

In the age 12-13 division, Conner Smith took first with an 18-hole total 83, Drake Dorbeck finished second with a 95, and Gabe Stuckey was in third with a 110. Channing Curtis won the age 10-11 division with a 113.
