LANCASTER, Texas — Shirley Ann Hicks died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at her home in Lancaster, Texas. She was 56.
Mrs. Hicks was a member of Adullam Christian Fellowship of Dallas, Texas, and was a food-service worker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Hicks Sr. and Louise Lewis Hicks; and a brother, Joe Hicks.
She is survived by a son, Maurice Andrews of Port Gibson; two daughters, Denise Hicks of Dallas and Diane Hicks of Port Gibson; four brothers, Eddie Lee Hicks and Willie Hicks, both of Dallas, Richard Hicks Jr. of Port Gibson and John Hicks of Chicago; three sisters, Betty Barnes and Vera Liggins, both of Port Gibson, and Louise Bennett of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including members of the Coleman, Davenport and Marbley families.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rising Sun M.B. Church in Lorman with Minister Lela Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
