Blake Hynum’s bases-clearing triple in the sixth inning broke open a close game, and Vicksburg (7-3, 7-0) won a key division game against Ridgeland.

Hynum went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and four RBIs. Ryan Ferrington also tripled, and Bowen Woodson had a pair of singles and two RBIs. Hynum’s triple to right was the key to a four-run rally in the sixth, though, that allowed the Gators to open up a 6-0 lead.

Brian Fitzgerald slammed the door from there. The senior left-hander struck out eight, walked four and gave up just three hits in a complete game victory.
