The attackers were described as two black males, each wearing a black bandana around their faces, said Williams.

City woman critical after morning wreck

A Vicksburg woman was in critical condition this morning at University Medical Center after being ejected from her car in a one-car wreck at Halls Ferry and Stonewall roads early this morning.

Wendy Womble, 25, 145 Bradford Drive Lot 32, was traveling southbound on Halls Ferry Road at 3:04 a.m. when her car hit a concrete curb and rolled down a hillside and ejected her, said Sgt. Sandra Williams of the Vicksburg Police Department.

A witness said Womble’s vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane before she hit the concrete curb, said Williams.

Womble was taken to River Region Medical Center and airlifted to UMC, where a hospital spokesman said she was in critical condition.

Williams said this morning it appeared Womble was not wearing her seat belt at the time because she was ejected from her car.

Williams also said it is undetermined what the cause of the accident was at this time.
