The engagement of DeJané Shante Hill to Anthony Darnell Cleveland II, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 5 p.m. May 2, 2009, at Pleasant Valley M.B. Church. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Hill is the daughter of Lamont and Renee Brown of Vicksburg and Horace Becks of Phoenix, Ariz.

She is the granddaughter of Velma Hill, Sammie Williams and Henry Hill, all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Cleveland is the son of Edward and Alberta Wheeler of Vicksburg and Anthony and Sonia Cleveland of Fayetteville, N.C.

He is the grandson of the late Douglas and Inez Jones of Vicksburg, Oneal and Leedora Cleveland of Sprotts, Ala., and Laura Spencer of Fayetteville.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a member of the softball team. She is attending Virginia College online.

Miss Hill is employed at Riverwalk Casino.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he was a member of the Key Club and track, football and powerlifting teams. He attended Hinds Community College.

Mr. Cleveland is in the U.S. Army.
