Lucinda Ware Wilson

Lucinda Ware “Cindy Lou” Wilson died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.

Born in Lake Providence, Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker. She attended E.D. Straughter Memorial Center and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe George Wilson; a son, Zelma Thomas; three sisters, Emma Eugene, Viola Hunter and Marie Ware; and her grandparents, including Fannie and Elvis Cooksey.

Survivors include one son, James Willie Thomas of Vicksburg; one daughter, Beulah Mae Thomas of Vicksburg; a stepdaughter, Beatrice Collins of Vicksburg; her father, Zelma Ware of Las Vegas; her mother, Mary Jones Nelson of Lake Providence; two brothers, Willie Nelson and Donnie Nelson III, both of Lake Providence; five sisters, Thelma June Nelson of San Bernardino, Calif., Linda Faye Williams and Rosie Brandy, both of Oakland, Calif., and Deloris Nelson and Lucy Nelson, both of Lake Providence; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
