So you like chocolate, do you?
Well, you can surely get your fill at the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation’s “A Chocolate Affair” scheduled May 7. Here’s the deal:
The SCHF is offering an elegant, fun-filled evening in its auditorium that will include a plethora of chocolate desserts, drinks and great entertainment by local pianist Jim Robinson with songs by Maria Adona. The fun begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now (advance only) at $15 per person for SCHF members and $20 for nonmembers; you may purchase tickets at SCHF business office or at Paper Plus, 1318 Washington St.
A Chocolate Affair is a new twist and addition to an enjoyable evening in Vicksburg. The many scrumptious chocolate desserts and assortment of drinks are being sponsored by Café Anchuca, Just Desserts, Main Street Market, The Liquor Store, and Ameristar Casino.
The SCHF has partnered with local businesses for this event, and if you present your Chocolate Affair ticket the night of the event at either Monsour’s, The Biscuit Company, Café Anchuca, Beechwood Restaurant or Toney’s Restaurant, you will get 10 percent off your dinner purchase. The auditorium will be transformed for the evening event into a room of sophistication and charm by the local talents of Uptown Florists and Gifts.
“This unique fundraiser will be an extra avenue to increase funds for our many events and programs we conduct here at the Center, and it will also assist in some extra maintenance issues that periodically occur,” Annette Kirklin, Executive Director of the SCHF, said.“It also is a pleasure working together and partnering with local businesses; it is what makes the community come together.”
Space is limited so those wishing to attend should get tickets early. For more information or for ticket purchase, call the SCHF office at 601-631-2997 or e-mail info@southernculture.org.
The SCHF is a nonprofit organization that maintains and operates the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. The property is on the National Register of Historic Places and was formerly the St. Francis Xavier Convent and Academy.
