Michael S. Keen has been promoted to vice president of RiverHills Bank.
Keen has been employed with the bank since 2004 in the lending and compliance department. He serves as secretary for the bank’s board of directors.
He and his wife, Tiffany, have two children, Elizabeth and Will. They attend St. Paul Catholic Church.
Three from Corps get national praise
Three Vicksburg Corps employees received recognition at a national awards ceremony.
Brad Steed, Tahirih Lackey and Leslie C. Milton were named Modern-Day Technology Leaders during the 23rd annual National Black Engineer of the Year Award ceremony at the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Global Competitiveness Conference on Feb. 21.
The three are employees of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center.
Steed is a research structural engineer in the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory. He began his career with the Corps in 1997 and has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Louisiana Tech University. He is pursuing a master’s degree in structural engineering from Mississippi State University.
Lackey is a research hydraulic engineer in the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory. She began her work with ERDC in 2005. She has a bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University and a master’s and doctorate from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She has been an adjunct professor at Jackson State in math and civil engineering.
Milton has been a computer scientist in the Information Technology Laboratory since 2005. She has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Jackson State in computer science. She has been selected to work on the ERDC Google Earth project.
Outdoors editor to speak at VAMP
Mark Beason, editor of the magazine Mississippi Outdoors, will be the speaker at the April meeting of the Vicksburg Association of Marketing Professionals.
The meeting will be at noon April 7 at Ameristar Casino’s Heritage Buffet.
Beason is a graduate of Mississippi State University and a native of Neshoba County. He is married to Sandi Beason, and they have a 6-year-old daughter, Adeline.
