Miss Carter to marry Mr. Smith March 28

The engagement of Anissia Tarenette Carter to Benjamin Russell Smith, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 5 p.m. March 28, 2009, at Travelers Rest Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the VFW on Monroe Street. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Carter is the daughter of Willie Jean Carter Jenkins and Eugene McGraw of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Willie and Rachel Carter and the late Mary Pierce, all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Smith is the son of Eddie and Julia Ford of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Lorraine Davis of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 1989 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and Big Blue Band.

She received an educational psychology degree from Alcorn State University.

Miss Carter is a teacher at Kings Head Start.

The prospective groom attended Vicksburg High School and is a steward at Ameristar Casino.
