Helen J. Harris died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at her home. She was 68.

A Warren County native, Mrs. Harris was retired from Anderson-Tully Lumber Mill. She was a member of Greater Grove Street M.B. Church, where she was on the mother board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard C. Harris Sr.; a son, James Lee Harris; three brothers, John Wesley Thomas, Claude Earl Harris Sr. and Wallace Diggs Jr.; one sister, Pearlie Mae J. Thomas; her parents, Robert Price and Pearlie Mae Jackson Thomas; and her grandparents, Buster and Margaret Jackson.

Survivors include two sons, Roosevelt Harris of Jackson and Leonard C. Harris Jr. of Edwards; one stepson, Jonathan Bunch of Olive Branch; four daughters, Helen Sims of Jackson, and Mattie Green, Jacqueline Harris and Linda Lewis of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Arlene Bunch of Vicksburg and Barbara Pierce Williams of Lansing, Mich.; two sisters, Ethel Bland and Florine Harris, both of Vicksburg; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
