A section of road in the Vicksburg National Military Park will be closed to vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles starting Tuesday.

Connecting Avenue, the road between the USS Cairo and the Fort Hill entrance, will be repaved as part of the park’s road construction project. The road will remain off limits until further notice, though VNMP natural resources program manager Virginia DuBowy expects it to be closed no longer than a month. Detour signs will be posted to lead visitors around the construction area.
