Jackson, Texas men nabbed in Edwards carjacking

Three men, two from Jackson and one from Texas, remained in jail this morning charged in a Friday night carjacking in Edwards.
The three were arrested by Hinds County deputies and Clinton police within 15 minutes of a report that a Dodge Charger had been taken from a home on Willie V. Crump Road.
Hinds County officials identified the three and their charges as:
Travis Bishop, 22, 520 Hiawatha St., Jackson, charged with armed carjacking, as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and destruction of county property.
Michael Chaney, 21, 1651 Forrest Ave. No. N5, Jackson, armed carjacking and as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Vondre Smith, 20, 6102-1 Smith Road, Fort Hood, Texas, was charged with armed carjacking.
All three were in the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond this morning pending a court hearing, Chief Deputy Steve Pickett said.
