A look at how college football players with ties to the Vicksburg area did in games played over the weekend.
• Millsaps defensive end John Robert Burnett (St. Aloysius) had one solo tackle, one assist, 1 1/2 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery in a 61-7 victory over Sewanee on Saturday.
• Mississippi State defensive back Marvin Bure (Vicksburg High) had one solo tackle and one assist in a 31-24 win over Kentucky.
• Southern Miss safety Chico Hunter (Warren Central) had one solo tackle in a 50-43 loss at Houston.
• Delta State defensive back Garrett Williams (South Delta) had four solo tackles, two assists and one sack in a 35-23 loss to Arkansas Tech. Delta State linebacker Jesse Pedyfoot (Warren Central) had one solo tackle.
• Mississippi College running back Austin Divinity (Hinds AHS) carried the ball nine times for 44 yards, and scored on a 1-yard touchdown run, in a 38-24 loss to Howard Payne. Divinity also caught one pass for five yards, and totaled 46 yards on four kick returns.
• Mississippi College linebacker Quartez Ashmore (Vicksburg High) had four solo tackles, one assist and blocked a kick in the loss to Howard Payne.
• Mississippi College defensive back Jason Grigsby (Hinds AHS) had one solo tackle, one assist and one pass breakup.
• Louisiana-Monroe cornerback Otis Stamps (Warren Central) had three solo tackles and four assists in a 42-21 loss to Troy.
• North Texas defensive tackle Kelvin Jackson (Port Gibson) had two solo tackles and one tackle for loss in a 68-49 win over Western Kentucky.
• Nicholls State running back A.J. Williams (Hinds AHS) carried the ball only two times for 22 yards, but did have an 8-yard TD run in a 38-17 loss to McNeese State. Williams also caught one pass for six yards, returned one kickoff for 12 yards, and had one solo tackle.
