Electronics popular with thief on Belva

Electronics were hot items in Vicksburg Monday.
A 36-inch LG flat-screen TV valued at $3,700, a Wii video game console valued at $500, a Philips portable DVD player valued at $50, a 13-inch TV/VCR valued at $199, an Xbox 360 video game console valued at $500 and a hand-held digital video camera valued at $350 were reported stolen from a home in the 300 block of Belva Drive at 1:35 p.m., Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
City man arrested for drugs in Louisiana
A Vicksburg man was released from the Ouachita Correctional Center on $6,400 bond Monday following an arrest for possession of drugs and paraphernalia, reports show.
Alexander Olivo, 23, no street address given, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped by Louisiana State Police for improper lane usage, Sgt. Floyd McElroy said.
Reports say Olivo was traveling with his wife and children at the time of the traffic stop, and police found some material in a diaper.
He was picked up at 4:46 p.m. south of Interstate 20 on Camp Road about five miles west of West Monroe, said McElroy.
His family was released after his arrest, according to reports.
