Lee Anna Wells died Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 80.

Mrs. Wells was born in Claiborne County. She was a retired cook who had worked at Maxwell’s Restaurant, and was of the Church of Christ faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, D.C. and Carrie Thomas James; husband, Willie Wells Sr.; a son, Lamon Wells; and four sisters, Alberta James, Mattie James Daniels, Goldie James and Irene J. Strong.

She is survived by two sons, Willie Wells Jr. of Vicksburg and Lorenzo Dan Wells of Los Angeles; four daughters, Daisy Wells, Delores Wells Tate and Mildred Wells, all of Vicksburg, and Gracie J. Holmes of Detroit; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
