Estelle Pettway died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 83.

Mrs. Pettway was a Scott County native and had lived in Vicksburg for a number of years. She was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bilbo Pettway.

She is survived by six sons, Bill Pettway and Lester Pettway, both of Vicksburg, Thomas Pettway of Bay St. Louis and Jim Pettway, Kenny Pettway and Ted Pettway, all of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Vernie Cason of Fayetteville, Ark., and Debbie Garcia of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Vernie Hancock of Ocean Springs; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with her son Jim Pettway officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Garcia, Sonny Hancock, Charles Hancock, James Pettway, Alan Rymer and Stacey Walley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Pettway and Ryan Rainey.
