Tommie Pettway

Tommie Pettway died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 87.

A lifelong resident of Warren County, Mr. Pettway retired from Magnolia Trailer Co. after 20 years of service. He also retired from the Warren County Highway Department with 10 years of service.

He was a veteran of the Army, serving in World War II. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Pettway was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Pettway; and a stepson, James McNeely.

Survivors include one son, David Pettway of Vicksburg; four daughters, Patricia Gainey, Elizabeth Wicker, Loucinda Chester and Nancy Graham, all of Vicksburg; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Maine officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be K.B. Brown, Mike Brown, Ronnie Pettway, Hoyt Hogan, Bill Pettway and Jim Pettway.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
