Harper, Pittman to marry on March 7

James and Peggy Harper of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie Elizabeth, to Paul Hardy Pittman Jr. Mr. Pittman is the son of Marion and Betty Boyd and Paul Pittman Sr., all of Winona.

Miss Harper is the granddaughter of John and Frances Harper of Brinkley, Ark., and the late W.C. and Charlotte Standefer of Raymond.

Mr. Pittman is the grandson of Margaret Pittman and the late Nuit Pittman and Maudelle Hoover and the late R.J. Hoover, all of Winona.

The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Big Blue Band.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from Delta State University, where she was a member of Delta Mu Delta, Phi Theta Kappa and the DSU Marching Band.

Miss Harper is a business assistant for WDBD-Fox 40.

The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Winona High School, where he was a member of the Winona Pride marching band, Art Club, and basketball and tennis teams.

He received an associate degree from Holmes Community College, where he was a member of the Wesley Foundation and Chemistry Club. He attended Delta State University, where he was a member of RUF and the Student Life Council.

Mr. Pittman is employed in firewatch at Ergon.

Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. March 7, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Vicksburg. A reception will follow at The Vicksburg. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
