Edwards man nabbed in Vicksburg for drugs

An undercover police operation led to the arrest of an Edwards man accused of selling cocaine, police said.
Dedrick Fleming, 30, 118 Barrett St., was arrested at 3:17 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of an auto parts store on Clay Street, said Sgt. Sandra Williams of the Vicksburg Police Department.
A warrant had been issued for his arrest after an undercover operation, Williams said.
Fleming was being held in Issaquena County Jail without bond.
Robbery suspect ID’d as man from Utica
The man who was arrested Friday in a robbery and assault at Utica Post Office has been identified as Zander Jose Johnson, 24, 1147 Griffen Road, Utica.
Johnson was arrested by Hinds County deputies and Utica police Friday, a day after the robbery at the rural Hinds County post office.
He was charged with strong armed robbery and aggravated assault.
The robbery left the cash drawer nearly empty and some of the stolen money was recovered, Utica Police Chief Timothy Myles said.
The total stolen was not disclosed.
The postmaster, who was taken to River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, was not identified.
City man charged with bad check
A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning, charged with writing bad checks.
Ransom Warfield, 34, 1507 Marcus St., was arrested at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday and charged with uttering a forgery, Warren County Chief Deputy Jay McKenzie said this morning.
No bond had been set.
