Truck reported stolen on Washington Street

An auto theft was reported in the city Monday.

A 1986 Chevrolet Silverado pickup valued at $4,000, Mississippi tag WB1 767, was reported missing from the driveway of a home in the 5700 block of North Washington Street.

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning for two auto burglaries.

Mark. J. Mitchell, 18, 232 Greenbriar Drive, was arrested at 9:54 a.m. Monday and charged with two counts of auto burglaries, jail records said.

No information was available on when or where the burglaries occurred. He was being held without bond.

County felon held for having weapon

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning, charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon,

Jeffery Morrison, 47, 2035 Heather Place, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Monday, jail records said.

He was being held without bond.

Lorman woman held on bad-check charge

A Lorman woman was in the Warren County Jail this morning for passing bad checks.

Casnacita Gray, 34, 569 Brady Road, was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Monday and charged with three counts of felony bad checks, jail records said.

She was held without bond.

$700 in eyeglasses missing in Wal-Mart

Eyeglasses valued at more than $700 were reported missing at 12:42 this morning from the Vision Center inside the Wal-Mart SuperCenter, 2150 Iowa Blvd.

A pair of Oscar glasses valued at $89.66, a pair of Caribbean glasses valued at $137, a pair of Sally Hansen glasses valued at $118, a pair of Sunray glasses valued at $145 and a pair of Hannah glasses valued at $242 were missing.

Located in the front of the SuperCenter, the store does not have doors but has a chain to close it off, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Police have no witnesses and no suspects.

Three auto burglaries reported in Vicksburg

Three auto burglaries were reported in the city Monday.

• A Garmin GPS unit valued at $200 was reported missing at 2:45 p.m. from a 1997 Honda Accord in the 1600 block of Vicklan Street.

• Reported missing at 4:22 p.m. from a 1996 Buick in the 1800 block of Edna Drive was $2 in change.

• A Ruger 22-caliber pistol valued at $400 and $2 in change was reported missing at 10:30 p.m. from a 2003 Toyota Tundra in the 3400 block of Drummond Street.
