Warren Central Junior High eighth-grader Cameron Furey, 13, calmly spells out word after word during the district spelling bee Thursday at Bowmar Elementary.  Cameron won by spelling “buffalo” correctly. He will continue on to the state spelling bee March 9 at Mississippi Public Broadcasting in Jackson, from where it will be broadcast live beginning at 10 a.m. If he wins the state competition, he will compete at the national level in Washington, D.C. Ten students from the Vicksburg Warren School District competed in the district spelling bee. Cameron is the son of John and Tommie Furey.
