Miss Selma, Mr. Farrish to recite vows on Oct. 17

Charles R. and Ethel Louise Selma of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, JaNee Michelle, to James Leon Farrish IV of Edwards. Mr. Farrish is the son of James L. III and Cassandra Denise Farrish of Edwards.
Miss Selma is the granddaughter of Nelsie Lee Mitchell and Louis C. Spencer of Vicksburg and the late Juanita Selma of Chicago.
Mr. Farrish is the grandson of the late James Leon Farrish Jr., Eva Farrish Ford and the late Homer Ford, all of Vicksburg; Joseph F. Lewis Sr. of Redwood; and Will and Berteal Lewis Rogers of Tallulah.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a varsity football cheerleader and a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Hall of Fame, Key Club and Mu Alpha Theta.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Mississippi State University, where she served as president of the Lambda Eta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the NAACP.
Miss Selma is a process engineer for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he was a member of the Key Club, marching band and baseball team.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications from Jackson State University, where he was a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Mad Drama performance troop and the Sonic Boom of the South marching band.
Mr. Farrish is a sales associate for Best Buy Inc.
The wedding will be at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17, 2009, at Triumph Church. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.
