WC student held in robbery of ball game gatekeeper

A Warren Central High School student was in the Warren County Jail this morning charged with simple robbery in the theft of money from a gatekeeper at a softball game.

Guido Davico, 17, 4223 N. Frontage Road, was arrested at his home at 11 a.m. Wednesday and charged with simple robbery, said Sheriff Martin Pace.

Davico and an accomplice, who has not been arrested, are accused of stealing the ticket cash box containing about $400 from a security guard-gatekeeper at the school March 10.

The cash box had been left in the security guard’s car while he was sitting in a chair near it. The robbery report said no weapon was used, and the victim was not injured. The money was not recovered, said Pace.

Davico was being held without bond, and his school enrollment status was not available.

Burglary reported at hunting club

A burglary was reported at the Magnolia Hunting Club Wednesday.

A resident reported damage to his mobile home, one of eight at the club off U.S. 61 South, near the county line with Claiborne.

An inventory of what is missing will not be available until club members survey, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

City man arrested for domestic violence

A Vicksburg man was at the Vicksburg Police Department this morning on a charge of third-offense domestic violence.

Jermaine Harris, 28, no address available, was arrested at 1:59 a.m. at the Belva Drive  apartment of a woman he is accused of assaulting, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Harris was held without bond.

Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run

A Vicksburg pedestrian told police he was hit by a car that left the scene on Halls Ferry Road Wednesday afternoon.

Roy Davis, 46, 100 Adams St., was crossing Halls Ferry Road in the 2500 block when he was struck by a small, white, four-door vehicle, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Davis was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, said hospital spokesman Allen Karel.

Gun, purse missing in car burglaries

An auto burglary was reported in the city, and one was reported in the county Wednesday.

* A brown Birken bag valued at $200 and its contents were reported missing at 2:05 p.m. from a 2005 Jeep Liberty in the 1100 block of North Frontage Road.

* A Taurus .38 revolver handgun loaded with five rounds was reported missing at 2:58 p.m. Wednesday from the glove compartment of a car in 1600 block of South Street.

The car was not identified.
