PORT GIBSON — Murrell Brumfield died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Natchez Community Hospital. He was 83.

Mr. Brumfield lived most of his life in Claiborne and Jefferson counties. He owned and operated a barber shop in Port Gibson for 40 years.

He is survived by three sons, Elliott Brumfield of Lorman, Alan Brumfield of Natchez and Kevin Brumfield of Angleton, Texas; one brother, Donald Brumfield of Baton Rouge; one sister, Maxine Hurst of San Diego, Calif.; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be at a later date under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
