Happiness is coming home|Homecoming club members prepare for annual gathering

It’s homecoming time for the Vicksburg Homecoming Benevolent Club, and many activities are planned for July 2 through July 5.
A kickoff social is scheduled for July 2 at the Elks Fidelity Lodge, 916 Walnut St., to get the big event going. Entertainment will be by J.L. “Horseman” Mitchell. The social will begin at 8 p.m.
Happiness is Coming Home is the theme of the homecoming, and two events are planned for July 3: a wine and cheese hour beginning at 8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Center, Main at Second North, with Tilford Winery hosting the event; and a Get Acquainted Social to follow at 9 p.m.
On July 4, the Rowan Sanders/ Harry Powell Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Clear Creek Golf Course at Bovina, beginning at 9 a.m. A presidents’ meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
The annual scholarship dinner-dance banquet will begin at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Center, Main at Second North streets, and dinner will be served from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The Homecoming will come to an end on July 5 with a farewell worship service at Holiday Inn Express, beginning at 9 a.m. and followed by a continental breakfast.

Tickets for Friday and Saturday night Homecoming events are $30 per person, and may be purchased from any member of the Homecoming Benevolent Club.
