Southern Miss junior linebacker Gerald McRath will enter the NFL draft, The Hattiesburg American reported on Monday.

The Powder Springs, Ga., native earned All-Conference USA honors the last two seasons. He finished this year with a team-best 137 tackles. He also had 9 1/2 tackles for loss and two sacks.

The American reported that McRath petitioned the NFL during the season to receive a projection on how high he may go in the draft, and he received word that he wasn’t expected to be drafted in the first three rounds.
