Ora Nell Van Devender

Ora Nell Van Devender died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at her home. She was 91.

Mrs. Van Devender was a homemaker for most of her years and she worked for Canizaro’s jewelry shop for about 15 years. She was a member of Magnolia Garden Club for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Van Devender; two brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Van Devender of Madison, Jack Van Devender of Ridgeland and Jim Van Devender of Monticello, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Visitation will be from noon Thursday until the service at the church. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson with Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Mark Van Devender II, Jimmy Van Devender, Jim Abney, Blaine Caples, John Adams and Denton Devine.
