Motorcyclist hurt in interstate wreck

A car and motorcycle collision sent a Bogalusa, La., man to the hospital Friday night.

Jerry Crawford, 49, address unavailable, was riding a 1996 Harley-Davidson when a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by an unidentified woman collided with it where U.S. 61 South splits from Interstate 20, said Vicksburg police officer Derrick Smith.

The wreck occurred around 6:20 p.m., slowing but not stopping traffic.

Crawford was taken to River Region Medical Center, Smith said. River Region did not return a call seeking a condition report.

Monroe man jailed for leaving scene

A Monroe, La., man was in the Warren County Jail Friday after being arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

Christopher W. Fontenot, 38, 1513-B S. Fourth St., was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies at 11:45 a.m, jail records said. Bond had not yet been set. No further information was available.

Woman jailed on two charges

A Vicksburg woman was arrested Friday by Warren County sheriff’s deputies, charged with possession of a controlled substance and simple robbery.

Carmen Jilbert, 24, 664 Oak Ridge Road, was arrested at 9:45 a.m. She was in the Warren County Jail awaiting an initial hearing and bond setting.
