MATHISTON — Mrs. Ruth S. Roberts, 78, retired from Bost Extension at Mississippi State University, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Brooklyn Hall Personal Care Home in Mathiston.

Born in Webster County, Mrs. Roberts was a member at Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther C. Roberts.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora with burial at Clarkson Cemetery in Webster County. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Dell Mitchell of Starkville; son, Jerry Roberts of Vicksburg; sister, Dorene Stewart of Grenada; brother, Marion Stewart of Eupora; a niece, Dorothy Schmitz; grandchildren, Shellie Mitchell, Brent (Kristen) Mitchell, Justin Roberts and Kerry Roberts; and four great-grandchildren.
