A pedestrian on Crawford and Farmer streets late Monday night said four or five men knocked him to the ground and stole about $25 from his pockets before running toward Locust Street.
The man, who was not injured, was the 11th pedestrian robbed in the city this month. The other 10 reported guns or a knife used by one, two or four black men described as 5-foot-6 to 6 feet tall. The men in those cases were described as older teens or young adults.
In Monday night’s attack at about 10:37, the victim said he saw no weapon and his assailants were in their late teens to early 20s, said Lt. Bobby Stewart. The victim required no medical attention, Stewart said.
No arrests have been made in any of the robberies. If arrests are made in Monday’s case, the suspects would be charged with strong arm robbery. In the others, the charge would be armed robbery.
