Army Reserve Pfc. Shaqunta L. Hunt has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, she studied the Army mission, history and physical fitness and received instruction in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, rifle marksmanship, map reading and field training exercises.
A 2009 graduate of South Delta High School in Rolling Fork, she is the daughter of Crystal Hunt of Panther Burn.
Air Force Airman Christopher B. Smith has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline, core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles. The training earns him four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
A 2004 graduate of Warren Central High School, he is the son of Robert Keith and Jean A. Ehrhardt and the grandson of Tay and Dot Everett, all of Vicksburg.
