Lamar Scott

Lamar Scott died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 50.

Mr. Scott was born in Natchez and raised in Pattison. He had been a resident of Vicksburg for a number of years. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Pattison Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Clara Scott; and a sister, Margaret Friley.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy S. Scott of Vicksburg; four sons, Clinton Dale Moore of Tennesse, James Carl Friley and Jerry Friley, both of Vicksburg, and William Friley of Brandon; five daughters, Lawana Anderson of Pana Ill., Dianne Boykin and Donna Ainsworth, both of Pearl, Janice Lewis of Vicksburg and Angie Hydrick of Wesson; one brother, Sammy Lee Scott of Vicksburg; a sister, Claudine Fife of Port Gibson; 32 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Monk officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the service at the funeral home.
