Vicksburg’s Beautiful Bride expo is back for an eighth year.

Beautiful Bride 2009 will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Vicksburg Convention Center, with a fashion show at 4.

Set for Sept. 27 at Vicksburg Convention Center, the show is in its second year of being held in the fall. Before 2008, it was in January, but was changed because it coincided with a similar event in Jackson.

VCC marketing and events coordinator Erin Powell said the event will remain in the fall.

The expo will feature more than 35 area vendors, about 25 percent more than last year, said Sue Bagby, VCC special events coordinator.

“We have a real good array,” she said. “There will be vendors from pots and pans to bath products to the usual wedding vendors.

“Based on our shows, we see brides as info-seekers,” Bagby said. “This provides a great way to plan a wedding in one day. If you can pin down your vendors, that takes the headache out of it.”

The Vicksburg band Rewind will entertain the crowd, and door prizes will be given.

A fashion show featuring bridal wear, including men’s and children’s attire, is set for 4 p.m. Locals will model wedding duds from King of Hearts in Vicksburg, Imagination Bridal of Brookhaven and Mimi’s Bridal of Laurel.

Miss Mississippi 2009 Anna Tadlock and VCC Executive Director Larry Gawronski will host the show.

“Brides can come in and pick up everything they need,” Bagby said. “It’s a one-stop shop for brides.”
