LAFAYETTE, Ala. — Mrs. Janice Rodgers Collins of Lafayette, Ala., passed on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. She was 67.
She was the widow of Dr. Madison Travis Collins, who preceded her in death in 2002.
Mrs. Collins was a graduate of Auburn University and had been an elementary school teacher in earlier years. They lived in Lilburn, Ga., for many years where her husband owned a large-animal veterinary practice.
Mrs. Collins is survived by her son, Jason Travis Collins of Lawrenceville, Ga.; her parents, James E. and Thelma Adams Rodgers of Lafayette; one brother, Darrell Rodgers (Barbara) of Lafayette; a niece, Amanda R. Grubbs (Stephen); and great-nephew, Nathan, all of Wake Forest, N.C.
Funeral services are being held at First Baptist Church, Lafayette, at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, with a graveside service and burial in the Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Utica, at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, in the Collins family plot.
Glenwood Funeral Home of Utica has charge of arrangements.
