Vicksburg man held in attack on his mother

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail this morning after being charged with third offense domestic violence.

Cedric Figures, 33, 2301 Hunt St. Apartment 2, is accused of assaulting and attempting to choke his 60-year-old mother, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

He was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Saturday at Lake and Harris streets after he fled his home when police responded to a call, Stewart said.

Figures’ mother was not reported injured, Stewart said. He was being held without bond pending an initial court appearance.

Car, truck stolen during weekend

Two vehicles were missing in Vicksburg during the weekend, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

A gold 1999 Pontiac Bonneville with a Mississippi tag WBA126 and valued at $6,000 was reported stolen from the 900 block of Harris Street at 4:14 a.m. Saturday.

A grey 2006 Ford F-150 with a Mississippi tag YZ4431 and valued at $28,000 was reported stolen from a business parking lot at 3505 Pemberton Square Boulevard at 7:12 p.m. Friday.

Stewart said he did not believe the thefts were related.

Separately, a 2001 Nissan reported stolen Friday was found abandoned at 6:45 this morning in the 200 block of Bazinsky Road, Stewart said.

The car, valued at $10,000, was reported stolen from outside a home in the 1500 block of Porters Chapel Road.

Stewart said a radio was reported missing.

Gun, drugs missing in city burglaries

A weapon and a computer were among items reported missing in three auto burglaries and a business burglary during the weekend in Vicksburg, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

A 25-caliber handgun valued at $150 was reported stolen from a 2001 Cadillac DeVille in the 100 block of Forest Hill Circle at 11:45 a.m. Sunday.

A wallet containing $150 was reported stolen from a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the 1500 block of Bodley Street at 12:02 Sunday afternoon.

About $300 in cash and a bottle of Lorcet valued at $25 were reported stolen from a 1995 Nissan Altima in the 3400 block of Halls Ferry Road at 6:37 p.m. Friday.

A Dell XP Pro laptop computer valued at $800 was reported stolen from River Region West, 1111 N. Frontage Road, at 7:41 a.m. Friday.

Four thefts reported in Warren County

In Warren County, a vehicle, an engine and a yard tool were among items missing, records showed.

A white 2010 Dodge pickup with Mississippi plates WA7443 was reported stolen from the 1600 block of Mississippi 3 at 7:24 p.m. Sunday.

A 350 four-bolt main engine valued at $2,000 was reported stolen from a 1978 Chevrolt Silverado in the 6700 block of Paxton Road at 1:25 p.m. Sunday.

A Weedeater Featherlite blower valued at $79 was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Penley Road at 10:52 a.m. Saturday.

A Hannah Montana Sony PlayStation game console valued at $144 was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Companion Lane at 2:17 p.m. Friday.
