EIGHT MILE, Ala. — Jo Ellen Russell of Eight Mile, Ala., died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009. She was 63.

Ms. Russell was born in Memphis, Tenn., and formerly lived in Vicksburg. She worked for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitative Services for more than 10 years and was a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert McClain Russell Jr. and Frances Donnell Kimzey Russell.

Survivors include two sisters, Jann Rice of Florence and Sherri Spiller of Huntsville, Ala.; nieces; nephews; a grandniece; and many other relatives, friends and co-workers.

Services will be at 3:30 this afternoon at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until the service hour.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Florence Cemetery in Florence.

Memorials may be made to the Alabama Head Injury Foundation or the Mobile Animal Shelter.
