A woman making a deposit at an overnight drop box at a bank on Halls Ferry Road Wednesday night said a man approached her, stole the bag of money and ran away.
Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said the woman was carrying about $4,000 in the bag that was reported stolen about 9:30 p.m.
The victim identified the man as a 5-foot-7-inch black man weighing 150 to 180 pounds and wearing a black skull cap, a black T-shirt, dark jeans and a red bandana.
She said he took the red bank bag and ran toward Halls Ferry Park.
No weapon was displayed, Stewart said, and the victim was not injured.
Separately, a Warren County man was arrested at his home about an hour earlier and charged with a strong-arm robbery reported June 30, Stewart said.
Eric Phillips, 20, 226 Greenbriar Drive, was picked up by Vicksburg police accompanied by county deputies at 8:24 p.m. Wednesday for the offense, which occurred near a business at 2610 Clay St.
