A Vicksburg man was in the hospital this morning after being shot by his uncle Monday night, police said.

Louis Flowers, 18, 571 Fort Hill Drive, was shot once in the stomach, and Eddie Flowers, 18, 221 Henry St., Jackson, was in the Issaquena County Jail charged with aggravated assault, said Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department.

The shooting was reported at 7:50 Monday in the 1300 block of Bowmar Avenue. Stewart said it followed a day-long argument between the two.

A spokesman for River Region Medical Center said this morning that Louis Flowers was in fair condition.

Eddie Flowers was expected to appear in Municipal Court today.
