Linda Lee “Ms. Boop” Simmons died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Covenant Health & Rehab of Vicksburg. She was 48.

Mrs. Simmons was born in New Orleans, where she was a member of St. Mary’s of the Angels Church. She served in the Navy and was self-employed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Verna Lee West.

She is survived by her husband, Darryl Simmons of Vicksburg; two sons, Joseph Corey Simmons of New Orleans and Darryl Dawyne Simmons of Vicksburg; her father, Joseph West of New Orleans; one brother, Troy Lee of New Orleans; two sisters, Della Jones and Bonita Scott, both of New Orleans; and one grandchild.
