Bessie Guimbellot died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at her home. She was 89.

Born in Morton, Mrs. Guimbellot had been a Vicksburg resident for the past 68 years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Guimbellot; a son, Herman Guimbellot; two sisters, Noni Rossen and Leona Perrett; and three brothers, Murphy Wicker, Talmadge Wicker and Herman Wicker.

Survivors include a son, James C. Guimbellot of Vicksburg; two daughters, Janie Daughtry of Vicksburg and Brenda Davis of Americus, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Burch officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Davis, Matthew Davis, Zacharie Brown, Joshua Brown, Maxie Pope and DeWayne Jamison.

Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
