Lawrence to marry Markle on May 16

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thurman Lawrence of Madison announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Woodham of Oxford, to Dustin Land Markle of Jackson. Mr. Markle is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis George Markle of Vicksburg.

Miss Lawrence is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Gene Arnold Sr. of Biloxi and the late Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Burros Lawrence Sr. of Jackson.

Mr. Markle is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. S.K. Land of Winona and Mrs. George Clayton Markle and the late Mr. Markle of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Madison Central High School.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from the University of Mississippi, where she was on the dean’s list and received the Wobble Davidson M-Club Scholarship.

Miss Lawrence was a member of Delta Gamma fraternity, Reformed University Fellowship and Teachers of Tomorrow.

The prospective groom is a 2003 graduate of Warren Central High School.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry from the University of Mississippi, where he was a Taylor Medal recipient and member of St. Anthony Hall and Phi Beta Kappa.

Mr. Markle is a student at the University of Mississippi Medical School.

Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. May 16, 2009, at Chapel of the Cross in Madison.

A reception will follow in the David Christian Parish Hall.
