Knitting at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center Saturday was a group of people enrolled in Knitting 101 Workshop. Above, Doris Bellman, right ,and her daughter, Desiree Bellman, begin a basic stitch during their first day of the two-day workshop. The two signed up for the class together to help support each other. The workshop is taught by Leslie Tedder who has been knitting for about five years. Tedder will teach the students cover casting, basic knit stitch, purl stitch, basic pattern reading, yarn overs, cast off and the simple decreasing stitch. (Meredith Spencer*The Vicksburg Post)
