PORT GIBSON — Services for Kendra F. Truitt will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Second Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Hermanville Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson in charge.

Visitation will be from 1 until 5 today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the service Thursday at the church.

Ms. Truitt died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at her home. She was 33.

She is survived by a son, Kendavion Truitt of Port Gibson; her mother, Lorene Truitt of Port Gibson; her stepfather, John D. Savage of Port Gibson; her father, Isiah Hyder of Port Gibson; a special friend, Erik Curtis of Port Gibson; eight sisters, Denise Morton, Zola Hill, Edith Hyder, Latisha Hyder, Jaquita Smith, Keyonna Smith and Erica Hyder, all of Port Gibson, and Lizzie Hyder of Jackson; three brothers, Anthony Truitt of Jackson, Isaac Hyder of Texas and Javon Bell of Port Gibson; and other relatives including Jaheim Johnson, Jacory Howard and Courtney Watson, all of Port Gibson.
