Warren Central football coach Curtis Brewer retired from coaching on Monday, ending a 40-year career at the school.

Brewer was 42-38 in seven years as head coach after he succeeded Robert Morgan in 2004 as the sixth coach in the program’s 44-year history.

The 2009 team finished 6-5. Brewer led the Vikings back to the playoffs after a three-year absence, losing 38-6 in the first round to Olive Branch.
